2006
Humble Beginnings
Q-Mass began its journey with just three machines and a team of four dedicated employees, laying the foundation for the world-class manufacturing operation it has become today.
2007
A New Home
As demand grew and our capabilities expanded, Q-Mass transitioned into a larger, state-of-the-art facility to support continued growth and innovation.
2008
New Talent & Technology
Q-Mass welcomed its first intake of apprentices and expanded its capabilities with the addition of Wire Erosion technology.
2009
Precision Expands
Gun Drilling and Honing were introduced, strengthening Q-Mass’s capability to deliver high-accuracy components at scale.
2011
Engineering & Innovation
The Manufacturing Engineering Team was established, and Spark Erosion was added to broaden Q-Mass’s specialist capabilities.
2013
Large-Scale Capability
The GMTK Accuracer HR1200 joined our predominantly Mazak fleet, extending capacity to components up to 6m in length and 0.8m in diameter (236” x 32”).
2014
VAM Qualification
Q-Mass achieved VAM qualification, strengthening our position as a trusted supplier to the global energy sector.
2016
Pioneering Progress
Q-Mass became the first company in the UK to qualify for brush copper plating on VAM threads, adopted 5S methodologies, and relocated to a 5.5-acre facility in East Kilbride.
2021
Essential Recognition
The Ministry of Defence designated Q-Mass as ‘Essential Workers,’ enabling us to continue supplying critical components during a time of national need.
2023
Investing in Skills
Q-Mass acquired a Mazak Nexus 200 machine dedicated solely to internal training, reinforcing our commitment to developing workforce expertise.
